Booked this hotel pre- and post-cruise. Would not stay again. Positive: close to the cruise terminal (practically next door), not far from the train station, water bottles in the mini fridge. Beware: they are VERY strict about check-in times, so do NOT book this hotel hoping to check-in before 3:00. BUT if you’re on one of the river cruise lines, it appears the hotel gives priority to rooms reserved for those passengers. Also, the beds are quite uncomfortable (hard, inflexible), with odd square bed pillows (euro shams, but surprised no traditional pillows). The front desk staff come across a bit uppity, especially when asked about room availability prior to check-in time. Upon arrival at the beginning of our trip, I inquired about room availability and the young man at the desk typed for several minutes, told me “nothing is available until 3:00”, and walked away without a further word. So I guess if you’re on one of the river cruises and/or don’t plan to arrive before 3:00, and don’t mind rock hard beds—book this hotel. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

Stayed here overnight before starting a Rhine River cruise. It is located at the Amsterdam cruise terminal so it can get a little crowded on embarkation and disembarkation days. The front desk staff were gracious and welcoming. The room itself was comfortable, especially after 34 hours without sleep. Like others, I couldn't figure out the climate control, but opening the window did just fine. Had it been a little warmer, it might have been more of an issue. Downtown is just a short walk away, but there is also a tram stop across the street as well. I did not utilize the restaurant or bar so I cannot comment on that. The breakfast offers a very large selection of items, labeled in both Dutch and English so there is no guessing what something might be. It was a good stay.
OK hotel but I’d find something else if you’re not on a cruise.

Nice hotel but television reception on all channels is bad. Poor signal makes it unwatchable. Location is OK as it’s next to a tram line, which is necessary to get anywhere - not really walking distance to town.

We were able to walk our suitcases down the street to the cruise terminal. So easy to board the ship moored right outside. Staff is very friendly. Room was comfortable. I got the view room with the couch overlooking the water. Loved watching boats come and go.

Checkin took nearly 3 hours because the lead guest could not travel due to a heart attack. Food took an hour to arrive and was cold. Water in the shower cut off half way through the shower. Staff where dismissive if complaints and discurtious. Lacked any form of customer service training.

First of all I hope your travel companion received the all the necessary care, and may be in a good health again. I have carefully read your several comments, and it saddens me to receive your discontent. My apologies for not having met to any (?) of your expectations. Due to privacy and security reasons, we can not speed up the check in process when the person who booked the stay and also provdied with the credit card details, is not present. While we do understand the delicate situation you encountered, I hope you can understand this. Furthermore, our Duty Manager Violeta spoke personally with you, offered you a deduction on your expenses and emphasized with the unfortunate situation. We were happy to receive your confirmation of satisfaction accordingly! Due to unforeseen and external circumstances our hotel had no water: the water company "Waternet" were doing constructions (not in our hotel), and damaged unexpectedly the water supply in our hotel, without informing us. This situation was not in our hands-otherwise we would have taken measurements beforehand! I hope with the above I have informed you sufficiently.
